Can you tell that I’m really into myself right now? lol
Like I mentioned in a previous post, I have dreamed about getting prescription sunglasses forever (I’m easy to please, don’t judge me.) Well, I finally got a pair! I ordered them from GlassesShop.com and everything including frames, shipping, prescription, tinting and other features only cost a little over $50. That is way, way less than it would cost at other places. And I liked them so much, I thought I’d share my find with you lovely ladies (and gents) out there.
I’m sure I am not the only four-eyed junoesque (or not) girl who hates going to the glasses center, picking from a not so big selection of trendy frames, paying all this money and waiting 2 weeks, and then going all the way back. Why do that when you can just go online, pick your frames, fill out your prescription and Pupillary Distance number and have them shipped straight to your house. Easy peasy.
For my first purchase from Glasses Shop, I ordered the Augusta frame and I had them tinted with 80% grey. There you have it; sunglasses. I love the wayfarer style of these frames. And I will definitely be wearing them often. Even if there is just a hint of sun outside, on they go.
Glasses Shop has a huge selection of frames and tints so I think I am going to have to start collecting both regular prescription and sunglasses now…My poor wallet…
At Glasses Shop, you have a choice of thickness and type of lens, including Transitions, at an additional fee. They also provide Bifocal and Progressive prescription lenses. You have the option of adding anti-reflective and UV coating, also at an extra fee. Glasses Shop has a virtual try on feature, where you can upload a picture of yourself to see how the glasses are going to look on you and they list the measurements of each frame so you can judge how big or small they are going to be. And every order from Glasses Shop comes with a translucent, sturdy eyeglass case and a cleansing cloth.
My sunglasses are single vision, with the 1.56″ lens with anti reflective, anti scratch, and UV coating. I didn’t pay much for these glasses but trust me, the glasses don’t feel cheap. They feel sturdy and well made. And not like they are going to fall apart in my hands.
The only thing that kinda bothered me was that, it wasn’t until after I ordered the frames that I got an email stating that the frames I chose were on backorder and that there might be a delay. That would have helpful to know before I ordered them not after. No big deal really. But, I got a coupon code for my trouble and in the end there was no significant delay that I noticed. From the day I ordered them to the day they arrived it was a little over 2 weeks.
So yes, I will definitely be ordering again from Glasses Shop. But I also want to try Zenni Optical. Just want to keep my options open. When I do try Zenni, I will be sure to let you all know.
For those who want to try Glasses Shop (and you should) I have a coupon code for you! Use the code INVHKTJBMAXRE for 20% off your order. AND GlassesShop is having a sale right now! (I’m just the bearer of good news today aren’t I?) Buy 1 pair get another FREE with the code B1G1.
TTFN,
