I read Tall Snob’s post about tall fashion in Pantone’s color of the year, Tangerine Tango and was inspired to do my own. I have picked (and pinned) my own tall fashion finds in 2012’s signature color and thought I’d share them with you.
For those who don’t know, every year Pantone chooses the color that defines the year. Last year, the color was Honeysuckle and the year before it was Turquoise. This year it is Tangerine Tango. Described as “sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.”*
Sounds great, right?
For a long time, I only wore dark colors. I think maybe subconsciously I wore darker colors because they are safe and I don’t draw so much attention to myself. I mean I stick out enough already right? But more and more I have been gravitating to brighter colors. Don’t get me wrong, I still love my blacks and navys but I think wearing bright colors really brightens my day. I say just because you’re tall doesn’t mean you should sacrifice style.
Tangerine Tango really is a beautiful color; perfect for spring and summer.
