This review is really late but I wanted to wait until I wore these out a couple of times before I told you ladies about them. I bought the Two-Tone Wedge in a 13 W and the Laser-Cut Lace Up Platform Heels in a 12 W from Torrid a couple of weeks ago and I LOVE them. I’ve been meaning to try Torrid for a while now because their trendy shoes come in large sizes and wide widths. When I saw that they were having a BOGO 50% off sale, I knew that it was time. (And lucky you, right now, Torrid is having a last minute Christmas Eve BOGO 50% off sale.)
If you remember, I first talked about the wedges and platform heels in my last Pinterest Picks post. If you read that, you know that I was obsessed with them as soon as I laid eyes on them. I even posted a pic of these beauties as soon as I got them on Instagram (yes I am on Instagram now) and my friends told me how much they loved them. Now on to the review.
As I expected, the size 13 W wedges are slightly too big. But luckily, I have the ankle strap which helps to keep the shoe on my foot. But I still have to be careful though, because my stockinged feet tend to slide around in them which could be a twisted ankle waiting to happen.
The two tone wedge has black and rich cognac faux suede (I love faux suede) with a 4.5″ faux wood wedge heel. The two-tone wedge has a round toe which big foot girls like me love because they make your feet look smaller. They are $42.50 and are available up to size 12. I definitely think these are now in my top 10 fave shoes. They are super comfortable to wear and walk in. These wedges look great with anything; skinny jeans, pencil skirts, a-line dresses and etc.
I took a chance ordering the Laser Cut Platforms in a 12 and it pretty much paid off. I figured I could get away with the 12 since it was a wide width and after wearing them for a day, I am glad I didn’t get a 13. These are also a tad too big and in stockings, my feet slide forward through the open toe. This makes it hard to walk comfortably since my toes are crowded and tightly pinched through the open toe of the shoe. Maybe I will get one of those shoe inserts to prevent my feet from sliding forward. The laser cut platforms also have faux suede (Do you sense a pattern here?). I love that they are kinda funky. They seem a little haute couture-esque and I’m obsessed with the block heel and the cut outs. The heels are 5″ heels with a 1″ platform. They are almost sold out in the black; they go up to a size 12. But they also come in purple up to a size 13. I last wore these with a black pencil skirt and a cream bow blouse. Very sexy librarian.
I happily gave away a couple pair of shoes that I don’t wear to put both of these in a place of honor on my shoe shelf.
