Custom Cutie

Like I said in one of my past Pinterest Picks, I ordered a dress to try from eShakti and it just arrived. It took a little over a week to get here. I told you all that I would give a review so here I am. I ordered this dress, customized with wide straps and mid calf length in a size 12. I LOVE it.

If you don’t know about eShakti, they are an online clothing store that offers customizable fashions. You can completely customize any item they have to your size and liking for an extra fee of only $7.50. You can put in your own body measurements or you can choose a size. (eShakti carries sizes 0-36W.)

This dress is amazing. I love the colors, the pattern and the buttons going down the back. It is reminiscent of a dress from the 50’s which is great because I am a big fan of vintage inspired fashion. Add in my Kit Bow pumps in the color nude from Payless, and I feel like I should be in an old movie. The pattern is so bright and sunny, perfect for spring and summer. I also love the crisscross bodice; it is one of the things that first drew me to the dress.

The dress fits well except maybe around the waist. It is slightly big which is somewhat expected since I have a pretty narrow waist. This can be remedied with a wide belt if I wanted. But I think I would prefer to show off the lovely buttons. The buttons are purely for decoration; the dress has a hidden side zipper. I requested mid calf length when I ordered, thinking that since I am so tall, it wouldn’t really be mid calf, but maybe just below the knee. I was wrong. This dress falls below my calf*. I should have known better since they require that you fill in your height when you place your order and they must’ve taken that into account when they made my dress.

I’m glad that I customized the dress with the straps because it is a little loose up top and I know that would be constantly fussing with this dress just to make sure it stays up if I didn’t. The dress is very well made and constructed. It has boning in the sides and the fabric is not too heavy.

I was pleasantly surprised that my dress comes with a measuring tape and I read that is so that you can get a more custom fit for your next order. Love that! Also, their return policy is pretty nice I think. You can return an item within 30 days but you can not exchange. Returns are only refunded either as a gift card or credit back to your account. Returns between 31 and 60 days of receipt can only be refunded as store credit. Shipping and customization fee is non-refundable. If you choose to get your refund as a gift card, you get the return value plus 20% more. This is so eShakti can “show higher responsibility in not meeting your expectations and to give you the opportunity to order again so that we can try and delight you, the next time around”.

I am so glad I finally decided to order from eShakti. I definitely will be ordering again. You should too. Right now they are having a 4th of July sale. Now through July 11, when you add a minimum of three items into your cart, the lowest priced item is FREE! Also if you are register with eShakti, you get a $25 gift coupon.

So like I said in the Pinterest Picks post and I agree now more than ever, eShakti is a godsend for Junoesque girls like me. A place where you can customize fit and length just for you without spending exorbitant amounts of money? A must try!

UPDATES*In heels, the dress does fall mid calf.

Also, there are small straps on the underside of the wide straps of the dress to attach your bra straps to keep them from sliding down. How awesome is that? I literally squealed when I realized that.

Happy Shopping,

Elayna
