So to warn you in advance, I bought a number of things in the last month or so, all in the name of “birthday shopping” so prepare for a number of hauls. The first things I bought were from ASOS. I know, what else is new right? I bought the ASOS Midi Skirt in Abstract Print in Black/White and the ASOS Full Midi Skirt in Grey Marl. I ordered both in a size 12. Unfortunately the abstract print skirt is out of stock in the black/white but they still have some yellow/pink ones available. It goes up a size 14.
The ASOS Midi Skirt in Abstract Print is a high-waist full skirt. The material is pretty thick and stiff so it is not as light and breezy as some other summery skirts like say the ASOS Full Midi skirt below. The material is also thick enough where you can probably get away with not wearing a slip underneath.
I fell in love with the pattern as soon as I saw it and I think I mentioned it in my last Pinterest Picks post a while back. It is like nothing in my closet. I like how it has an artistic and creative edge but still remains classy. Like me lol. The length of the skirt is perfect. Even in 5″ heels the skirt still falls past my knees.
The ASOS Full Midi Skirt is a more casual skirt. The material is a soft jersey and it has an elastic waist. OMG! Elastic waists are the epitome of comfort. I can definitely sit in this skirt all day. It is nearing sweatpant/yoga pant territory but much cuter. Like I mentioned above, this skirt is very light and airy. So much so that you have to be careful on windy days. You don’t want to offer any passersby a free show if you catch my drift. Perfect for when the weather is warm, though. This is another past-knee length skirt. It comes in 3 other colors including green and white and goes up to a size 14.
So that’s it for this round of sharing the b-day gifts I bought myself. Stay tuned for more!
